The University of Virginia College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences is the largest of the University of Virginia's ten schools. Consisting of both a graduate and an undergraduate program, the College comprises the liberal arts and humanities section of the University. Edward Ayers is the dean of the College through July 1, 2007, and a search for his replacement is expected to conclude by June 2007, as Ayers has been named the ninth President of the University of Richmond.^[1] The College (as it is called at UVA) offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and more than 24 graduate programs.

Departments in the College include: Anthropology, Art, Asian and Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Classics, Drama, English, Environmental Science, Economics, French, German, History, Math, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Physics, Politics, Religious Studies, Sociology, Spanish Italian & Portuguese, Statistics, Slavic Languages and Literature.
