Unterseeboot 353

Unterseeboot 353 or U-353 was a German World War II Type VIIC submarine commissioned on 31 March 1942. U-353 served with 5. Unterseebootflottille (U-Boat Flotilla) for training and later with 1. Unterseebootflottille from 1 October 1942 to 16 October 1942. U-353 completed one patrol, but did not sink any ships.
U-353 was sunk on 16 October 1942 in the North Atlantic by depth charges from the destroyer HMS Fame. Six of U-353’s crew were killed and 39 survived the attack.
