[edit] Off-the-Air
On May 1, 2006, an anonymous editor stated that UATV would suspend operations indefinitely while seeking a new satellite services provider. However, there is no mention of this fairly major development on the company's web site, nor could I find any press releases announcing same. There are still many affiliate stations happily announcing their affiliation with UATV, and the network's web site is still posting current schedules. While it is true that the company has been suffering financial difficulties (their stock is trading for pennies per share), and that they have lost several affiliates to America One (such as WUHQ-LP), there is no indication that they have totally ceased operations. -- AlexDW 13:40, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, UATV's latest SEC filings show that they have indeed ceased operations. They have also fired their accounting team, laid of much of their technical staff, and have attempted to sell of their rather massive coal reserves (over $4 million). This would explain all of the affiliation switches that have happened recently. I do not know why they haven't updated their web site... wishful thinking? My only guess is that they are still feeding programming to stations in their local area, but that is a far cry from their previous standing. AlexDW 14:10, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
