[edit] Prof. V. Madhusoodanan Nair
As the official website dedicated to this great Malayalam poet correctly points out, he is a "Renowned poet, scholar and teacher, well accepted nationally and by Keralites everywhere in the world, who popularized poetry and endeared it even to the illiterates and children, in the last 16 years."
While the most popular poem from him yet (among the masses) is the Naranath Bhranthan, he has many more touching and strong poems to his credit. A professor by profession, he has held many eminent positions by virtue of his knowledge and position in society.
Poems from him on Cassettes and CD's made a huge difference in the way Keralites viewed poetry and he is simultaneously acclaimed for it and blamed for "commercialisation" of poetry.
