Vadim Sharifijanov

Vadim Sharifijanov (b. December 23, 1975 in Ufa, Russia) is a former professional ice hockey right winger. He was the first round pick of the New Jersey Devils in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, 25th overall, after playing two seasons for Ufa Salavat in the Russian League. He went on to play for the Devils ad the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League, as well as for multiple European and minor league teams. On July 4, 2006, Sharifijanov announced his retirement.
Sharifijanov spent parts of three seasons in the NHL, with his best totals coming in 1998-99, when he scored 11 goals and had 27 points in 53 games. He was traded to Vancouver midway through the 1999-2000 NHL season, but only scored a combined ten points for the Devils and Canucks. It was his last season in the NHL, and he played in the IHL and in Russia. Sharifijanov spent the 2004-05 season in the second tier of the Swedish elite league before announcing his retirement from hockey.
