Vaivara
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vaivara was the largest of the 22 concentration and labour camps established in Estonia by the Nazi regime during World War II. It had 20,000 Jewish prisoners pass through its gates.
It was apparently established in 1943 as a camp for Soviet prisoners of war. From August 1943 until February 1944 it was the main branch of 20 forced labor camps located throughout Estonia.
