Vampeaneze

Vampaneze are a fictional group from the Darren Shan series of books.
A long time ago vampires lived by draining humans of blood. When the humans started to hunt down and kill vampires they stopped to save their race from extinction. Vampires then decided to take only some blood from humans whilst they sleep so that the vampire community could live unnoticed.
A small group of vampires refused to follow this rule. They formed their own clan called the Vampaneze. They differ in appearance to vampires by having purple skin and red eyes (due to drinking more human blood over many generations) but they have all the same strengths and weaknesses as other vampires. They are little threat to the other vampires because they are so few in number and they are careful to leave their killings unnoticed.
It is said that one day a lord would rise among them and lead the vampeaneze to wipe out the vampires and would rule as the Lord of Shadows....but nothing is certain.
