Vavá
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vavá, real name Edvaldo Izidio Neto, (November 12, 1934 - January 19, 2002) was a Brazilian football player. He was a striker(center forwards) for C.R. Vasco da Gama, S.E. Palmeiras and the Brazilian national team. Vavá is widely regarded as one of the greatest Brazilian strikers ever.
Vavá was born at Recife. He received 22 caps with the Brazilian national team, and won both the 1958 and 1962 World Cups (with respectively 5 and 4 goals).
Vavá is one of only four footballers to have achieved the feat of scoring in the final of two different world cups, sharing that honor with Pelé and Paul Breitner. He is also one of only three players to have scored 3 goals in World Cup finals along with, Geoff Hurst and Pelé.
