[edit] T'Pol image
The English Wikipedia is cracking down on the use of images and pretty soon there won't be any left. I took the image down because there was no way it could be saved under the current American Wikipedia fair use rules. If it's still in use in the Russian Wikipedia, that may be OK if their fair use rules are different. 23skidoo 04:17, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RU Wikipedia and fair use
From what I can tell, they do accept fair use, since they display fair use photos on the main page. However, the policy could change any time, and try to comply with local law of Russia, since many of your reuses are in the Russian Federation and the CIS. - Thanks. But I can't quite understand fair use policy. Russia doesn't have a direct law concerning fairuse. So fairuse policy in ruWiki is based on the english version (I have written it :) ). The question is - can a fair use images be used in RuWiki if russian law prohibits fair use for example?--Vaya 22:54, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- From what I can gather, [1] is the Russian approximate of what the United States is calling fair use. As long as we use the photos for criticial commentary and not for decoration, and we limit the number we have, we should be able to use fair use on ru.wikipedia. However, if ru.wp is emailed to take a photo down that is under copyright, then go ahead and remove it. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 19:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tagging as unsourced
I appreciate your enthusiasm as a new wikipedian for tagging unsourced images. However please stop doing this until you know what you are doing. Billlion 07:30, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
