Veronica Napoles

(July 9, 1951) is a Cuban American author, architect, artist, award-winning designer, teacher, builder and real estate broker.

Born in Spanish Harlem, she began her higher education at the University of Miami in 1969 graduating with a degree in fine art. She then graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in architecture. Veronica began her design career as a project director for Walter Landor and Associates before running her own highly successful design firm for twenty years. She has taught design at both the University of California and Sonoma State University as well as conducting branding workshops nationally and internationally.

Veronica's book Corporate Identity Design , published by John Wiley in 1988 is still in print and is considered the branding bible. Her screenplay, The Initiate , was accepted as a Sundance Institute semi-finalist in 1991.

She has received numerous national and international design awards for excellence in design and print communications, including: Creativity, New York Art Directors Club, American Corporate Identity, Print Casebook, and Print Regional Design Annual.

Articles about Veronica and her work have appeared in many newspapers and magazines including: Entrepreneur, Hispanic Business, New Woman, San Francisco Chronicle Business Section, San Francisco Examiner, SUCCESS , and SUCCESS Japan. Most recently, Veronica was featured in a half-hour program on KGO-TV honoring Bay Area business leaders.

Community service is important to Veronica, having been on the board of directors of Youth In Arts, and Marin Hospice. Most recently she was elected to the board of Trustees of the Headlands Center for the Arts, a residency program for mid-career artists located in the Golden Gate National Park.
