Verse

The word Verse is used in several senses:
- Metrical poetry, as opposed to prose.
- A line of poetry, whether metrical or not.
- A division of the Bible or Qur'an. See Chapters and verses of the Bible for use in the Bible and ayah for use in the Qur'an.
- A formal section in popular song. See: strophic form, verse-chorus form and Thirty-two-bar form.
