VFS India

VFS India is an organization in India that deals with visa processing for Indian people.
VFS stands for Visa Facilitation Services. VFS provides services for citizens of India travelling to countries like USA, UK, and Australia. Providing visas for the B1/B2, L1/L2, H1/H2/H3 and other categories (explanation below) is their main occupation. They are the communication point between the embassy and the travelling citizens. VFS India has various branches all over India.

The visa classifications are as follows:
- B1/B2: These kinds of visas are offered to people who are going on business or social visits. B1 and B2 are now offered in one visa. The person can choose to travel according to the needs required.
B1 visa is mainly used by people who go travelling to other countries in order to attend business meetings and trainings, whereas B2 visas are for the purpose of social visits, or visiting visas. (Note: these visas are not for official purposes)
- L1/L2: This visa is an official visa issued for intra-company transfers, which means the employee is required to work from abroad for the same company that he is currently working for. L1 visa is issued for the principle applicant and L2 is issued for the dependants of the principle applicant. In most cases the company bears the expenses of the applicants. H1 visa comes under the same category. The difference is, if one is applying for a H1 then one has the option of changing the company once one reaches abroad, which is not possible with an L1 visa.
