Armorial Bearings from [1] The Victorian Coat of Arms was granted in 1910 by King George V of England. It comprises a shield bearing a representation of the Southern Cross supported by two female figures, one holding an olive branch and the other the mythological cornucopia or 'horn of plenty'. These objects are symbols of 'peace and prosperity', which is the state motto.
