[edit] Your comments on Talk:Bantva

Hi. I empathize strongly with your viewpoint, and have also had a few problems with people trying to push a Pakistani (propaganda) point of view, regardless of the correctness of those views.

However, I think that swearing and the like is in violation of Wikipedia's policies (Wikipedia:Civility), and I strongly urge you to refrain from doing so in future. Park3r 15:36, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree with you and am sorry for the imotional outburst. As an after-thought I am going to apologize on the talk page of Bantva. Thanks for the frank suggestion.--Vikas Kumar Ojha 15:54, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Cool. It's great to have people who take accuracy seriously, and I hope to collaborate with you in future. Park3r 18:57, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Me too! Thanks for the support! As a matter of fact the rest of the article is informative, the only problem is that offensive section. I am new to the world of serious editing and thus would need more of your help and support. Thanks again!--Vikas Kumar Ojha 07:28, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re Bantul, Batul or Bnatul?

Thanks for your comments on Batul The Great. You'll notice that Bantul The Great also redirects to the page. It is probably just the preference of the article creator which I did not change. I've elaborated on the talk-page. Thanks again for reading. Respects. :) --Antorjal 01:17, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Vikas. I'm pretty new to wikipedia too, but if you ever need any help or just someone to offer a useless second opinon, you know just where to find me. Take care man. --Antorjal 00:47, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Comments by Lucky 6.9

Re. your question: Since your contribution had no content outside of the taxobox, it was a speedy deletion candidate. It can be recreated since the title is not blocked. Thanks for asking so nicely; I seem to be going in circles at present with another user over the same thing. - Lucky 6.9 06:29, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Let's try this from the top. You're back. - Lucky 6.9 06:53, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
    • I'm very glad to hear that and I'm glad you caught me as I was signing off. I may have bit down too hard since I was dealing with a similar conflict at the same time, so I apologize for my actions as well. I started getting really guilty feelings about blocking you only about eleven minutes in.  :) The system has been acting weird tonight, so I'm not surprised that the block went the entire hour. I've had to log on about twenty times tonight. I owe you one. - Lucky 6.9 08:03, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Vikas, you're one of the good ones. Thank you for the kind note. You need help, you got help.  :) - Lucky 6.9 01:30, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi Vikas...

Hi ... thanks for the Puja wishes. Many many wishes for a happy Puja for you too! If you ever need me to read anything or copyedit, or do anything else, just let me know, and I'll try to help to the best of my ability. Take care. Bye- Anirban. --Antorjal 02:31, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] School page

Hi Vikas... I looked at the page and I think it looks good. No major errors or typos in my opinion and it is informative which will cater to a broader audience. If you can find out details about enrollment that would be a good addition IMO. Otherwise, a perfect article. Take care. Anirban --Antorjal 01:47, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] No Problem

I'm glad to help. I'm sure we'll disagree on something in the future, but regardless of that, I hope to have a stimulating discussion then as well! Just a question before I go: do you think i'd make a good admin? Just H 02:21, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Other than nominating me at WP:RFA, I don't think there's anything you can do, but irregardless of anything you do, please feel free to debate an issue with me or ask my opinion on something, i'll try to be as honest and tactful as possible. Just H 02:29, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your WP:ADOPT request

Hey, saw you on the list of folks looking to be adopted on the WP:ADOPT page. I am eastern time US time (but I work somewhat strange hours anyway as a tech support guy). If you're interested in being adopted, let me know. Have a great day. SirFozzie 01:01, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Great! Sorry, I was kinda out of it the last couple days with the holiday craziness, but feel free to ask anything, I'll do my best to find the answer if I can't give you one right away. SirFozzie 16:17, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spell Checking

I haven't done anything like what you describe as of yet, but I see that WP:AWB has some restrictions to it (at least 500 MainSpace edits, have to register, have to be an editor in good standing, etcetera). It's a good thing though, I think you're doing well to get started on improving WP. I would make sure that you A) Make sure that you detail that you were typo hunting in the edit summaries of the article, and B) try to keep "content" edits and "spelling" edits seperate. The reason is, on a lot of articles, where one person continually watches the article, if they think you're changing the content to something they don't agree with, they will revert without thinking, which means that your typo edits will be tossed too.

If you want to be an admin, I would also suggest that you keep an eye on various administrator activities like WP:AN and WP:AN/I.

I would also suggest that you take a look at WP:DR. Having been caught in a long running feud with a vandal (a user who has been indef blocked twice for bad-faith editing, the 2nd time was avoiding a community ban).. I happen to know that Dispute Resolution (mainly WP:RfC but there are other parts to it are one of the things that a Joe Average user can get into that really keep WP focused on it's main mission.

Anyway.. Good Luck, I'm rooting for you :) SirFozzie 04:59, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

My areas of editing on WP are varied. Due to dealing with the vandal, I've spent a lot of my time in WP:DR, viewing the Administrator boards at WP:AN and WP:AN/I and articles dealing with professional wrestling. Left to my own endeavors, I've edited articles on music Groove Coverage, stuff I do for work CLARiiON, sports/breaking events (I'm a sports omnivore, follow all the US Sports, plus international sports like cricket, soccer, rugby, etcetera. Usually I spend a lot of time looking up something, and see where it takes me in WP, and editing things about what I have knowledge of. One of the reasons I became an Adopter is to keep looking for new things to do here on WP :) SirFozzie 23:26, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
The problem is there is an article at Hada already.. but might be something to look at for the future. Anyway, back to work I go SirFozzie 19:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Help

Since you are from India can you please help in the following:

Aga Khani Islamic Cults

In India and Pakistan followers of Aga Khan are known as Aga Khani and there are a lot of Islamic Cults, so I need help on explaining the term Aga Khani

Thanks trueblood 04:17, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. Can you put your comments on the talk on the article

trueblood 20:05, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] System requirements page

Hi Vikas! Thanks for the edits to the System requirements page. I agree that it's an important page. We need lots more citations, but the structure you put together is much better. I tried to redefine the introduction and eliminate circular definitions (anything that used "required" or "requirements" in the explanation). Lots more work to do I'm sure! Keep it up! --DeweyQ 02:01, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Quick point: I think you use book title form (capitals on each word of a heading). I'm pretty sure the standard is sentence form (capitals only on first word and any word which is always capitalized). The standard is here: sections and headings --DeweyQ 02:05, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Looks good, from what I've seen. It's not exactly concise (which WP tries to be), but a certain level of detail is required, probably for this article. SirFozzie 15:38, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Aga Khani

Thanks for your comments on Aga Khani, but could you also put this on the preloaded discussion for the subject. One user insists that there is no such thing as Aga Khani, user Aylahs

trueblood 05:53, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sr13

Hello,

I understand that you wish to be co-adopted by me and I will gladly accept. If you have any questions about WP, you may ask on my talk page and I will reply to you as swiftly as possible.

If I have the time, I will add suggestions to the System requirements article if at all possible. Thank you for requesting adoption. Sr13 (T|C) Editor review 02:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry to take so long getting back to you, I had an extended family member pass away Wed. Look at the Community Portal (right under the logo), they have various Article Improvement Drive sections near the bottom SirFozzie 17:08, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Co-Adopter

Hi there,

I have now the time to co-adopt if you would like that Vikas. So drop us a line on my talk page if that is still good with you. Cheers Lethaniol 14:35, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tunku Ismail Ibrahim Review

Although I may add a few things later this is what immediately hits me:

  1. A good start to a good looking article - though needs expansion.
  2. Would like to see those Red Links sorted especially important concepts such as Tunku Mahkota and Raja Muda, even if you start them only as stubs, and develop them later on.
  3. Would separate out the career and interests sections, and find a separate section (maybe even in the introduction) for the fact that he has been appointed Raja Muda.
  4. If you use abbreviations like IMA either wikilink them or expand them.
  5. In-line citations would be better than just having references at the end - so for example he led a mounted column of Jaipur based 61 Cavalry regiment to salute president of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam during the Republic Day celebrations. [1] and then have a references section at the end instead - read up at WP:CITE#Footnotes. Note use of inline citations is not mandatory but is preferred by many wikipedians.
  6. Have an external links section - to relevant websites.
  7. If you do have external links / reference links write them like this A wonderful website not just http://www.wikipedia.org. Much easier to read and you can explain what is in the link.
  8. Am not a great fan of the infobox as currently written - a bit informal with nickname and his only award being a Best in Riding (maybe this award should be wikilinked to something appropriate) - may get back to you on the infobox.
  9. The english prose is not fantastic - but then neither is mine - either spend sometime rewriting sections, or leave it and others will clean it up over time.

Apart from that I think is article just needs more content - with appropraite references - but again that can be added over time. A good start for an important article - good job.

Note you appear to have some skills, I have assumed a reasonably high level of understanding with respect to English and how Wikipedia works. If anything does not make sense just ask and I will explain in more detail. Cheers Lethaniol 16:54, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Raja Muda and Tengku Mahkota

First of all, I think the spelling should be Tengku Mahkota although I think Tunku means the same but it's a variation used in different states.

Secondly, normally Raja Muda and Tengku Mahkota are titles for the first in line to the throne. However, Johor sounds like a unique case. I haven't heard of another state which uses Raja Muda for the second in line.

I'm not an expert on this subject though.Wai Hong 06:30, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
