Villa Vina is a progressive rock trio based in Brooklyn, New York. Their songs use often incorporate complex arrangements and odd-time signatures. The use of reverb and live looping are applied liberally, as well synchopated stereo delay effects, which mimic the effects of two guitars. Their music is described as reminiscent of Brittish progressive rock bands from the 1970s, such as King Crimson, Genesis, and Yes, but also draw on modern styles of bands like Fugazi, Don Caballero, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Lowrider The band themselves describe their sound as "a culmination of influences not necessarily bound to music." Their song entitled "What Makes You Think You're Gonna LIve Through This?" is featured during the ending credits of the 2007 film, 300. History
Formed in 2004 by Luke DeStefano and Thomas Anthony Orza Jr, former bass player of Long Island screamo band On the Might of Princes.
