Talk:Virgo (constellation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello-o! Anybody home?! There's a spam sentence in the first paragraph, but when I go to edit it out, it's mysteriously not there.
It reads... "...It can be easily found through its bright α star, Spica. It's name was recently changed to Whora after john screwed her." (And they were too dumb to spell "Its" right, as well.)
But when I hit "edit this page," it just says... "Lying between Leo to the west and the Libra to the east, it is one of the largest constellations in the sky. It can be easily found through its bright α star, Spica. " ...so there's nothing to delete!
Don't know how this trick might work, but I thought I'd sound the alarm.
[edit] Is Mary a goddess?
A specific sentence in this article is rather misleading. "Who exactly Virgo was considered to represent is uncertain; in history, it has been associated with nearly every prominent goddess, including Ishtar, Isis, Cybele, Mary, Mother of Jesus, and Athena."
This rather confuses me, as to my knowledge, Mary is not a goddess. Is this simply a misinterpretation? In my opinion, it should be changed, but I'm not sure. Or is Mary a goddess in some religion other than Christianity? I'm rather confused on this. Hannah Kerela 01:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
