Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) is a Commonwealth of Virginia shared resource established at Virginia Tech in July 2000. VBI acts as a bioinformatics research, development, and economic engine, specifically in the areas of health, agriculture, and the environment. By integrating core experimental and computational laboratories, VBI provides a unique bioinformatics research platform on a cost-recovery basis to all stakeholders.
