Virginia de' Medici

Virginia de' Medici (May 29, 1568 – January 15, 1615) was a daughter of Cosimo I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany.
On February 6, 1586, she married Cesare d'Este, Duke of Modena and Reggio from 1597.
They had 10 children:
- Giulia d'Este (1588–1645)
- Alfonso III d'Este (1591–1644), Duke of Modena from 1628
- Luigi d'Este (1593/1594–1664), Lord of Montecchio and Scandiano
- Laura d'Este (1594–1630)
- Caterina d'Este (1595–1618)
- Ippolito d'Este (1599–1647)
- Niccolo d'Este (1601–1640)
- Borso d'Este (1605–1657)
- Foresto d'Este (1606–1639/1640)
- Angela Caterina d'Este (died 1651), a nun of the Catholic Church
In her later years, she suffered from insanity. She died in 1615, and was buried in Modena, at the Church of San Vincenzo.
