The success of the first Headbanger's Ball CD had sparked a national "Headbanger's Ball" tour throughout North America. This tour, living true to its distinctive nature, had showcased many modern heavy metal and hard rock bands.
The CD compilation originated by the TV segment of the same name which is hosted by Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta on MTV2.
