First Generation (1998 - 2000) There were some minor improvements in the design from the original 850, including better handling and an uprated specification, but otherwise this was the same car.
doesn't the v70 have a completely new nose? <-- True :o

Two third-generation V70 prototypes were spotted in Stjørdalen yesterday. [1] Should this be mentioned in the article?
According to the swedish road authorities: 4,75 m long and 1,81 m tall, 1670 kg, 430 kg max cargo weight. The diesel had 136 horsepower, while the petrol version had 146 hp. κаллэмакс 15:51, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

but the use of the V70 name this time round may suggest a model continuity with Volvo's estate range and that should the S60 be replaced an estate version will not be produced, as with the previous V70.

Is this right? V70 R AWD ($41,500 MSRP): 2.3L I5, 261 hp (195 kW) at 5,700 rpm and 258 ft•lbf (350 N•m) from 2,400 to 5,100 rpm
