He moved from Cleveland, OH to Raleigh, NC in 1995; where he began songwriting professionally, signed to a subsidiary of Volcom Records. In 1997 he was the founder of the band, Threw the Woulds [Threw the Woulds Official Site]. The band quickly became more of an idea, of how to use music to benefit the world. On Myspace, Scott Dworkin has over 200,000 plays, after being a featured artist on several different dates. The songs formulated include popular songs like the infamous "Impoverished Realities," winner of 67 songwriting awards including VH1's songwriting "lyrics only" song of the year in 2004, and the RIAA folk song of the year as well as the IAMA acoustic song of the year, beating out bands like Keane and Snow Patrol world wide for the same honors. Other hits include: "A Fake Love Song," "Lay Down Lambeth," with critically acclaimed songs such as "Sirens," "Message to my Dictator," "The Soldier Song," and the most beloved "DrunkJam." Scott Dworkin has won over 112 songwriting awards from major and non major competitions, in the last 2 years, making him one of the most sought after songwriters in the United States, and a vision of what the future of rock and roll will be.
