"Voyces United for UNHCR" is a charity album for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which protects and supports refugees at the request of a government or the United Nations and assists in their return or resettlement.
The album was initiated by Joalby Lopez who also contributed the song "Miscellaneous Pi" to the album. A release party for this album took place in the Knitting Factory in New York in 2005. The party was attended by various artists from the album, such as Brad Estrin (from American Idol 1), Joalby (the initiator of this project) and Candice Coleman (from American Idol 2).
MAY 2006 NEWS The album "Voyces United for UNHCR" has been picked up for distribution. The album will be release on Intersound Records on August 22nd, 2006 in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Look for it. More information on the official Myspace Site
