According to Chapter XXX ("MUNICIPAL STADIUM") on pages 419-423 of the Exposition's 520-page official record entitled "The Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition" by E.L Austin (Director-in-Chief) and Odell Hauser (Director of Publicity) published in 1929, the official name of the stadium when it opened in 1926 was "Philadelphia Municipal Stadium" and not "Sesqui-Centennial Stadium."
