Waiting for the Moon is a 1987 Twentieth Century Fox film written by Mark Magill and directed by Jill Godmilow. Linda Bassett stars as Gertrude Stein, and Linda Hunt as Alice B. Toklas, Stein's assistant and lover.
The film is set in the 1930s, and depicts the two women meeting with Picasso and his lover Fernande Olivier (played by Bernadette Lafont), and the authors Ernest Hemingway (Bruce McGill), and Guillaume Apollinaire (Jacques Boudet).
