Michael Smalley Nicole Stucker Chris Duke Josh Duke |
Warehouse 86 is an American Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Band formed some time in the later year of 2005. Originally it was supposed to be the main project of the bass player and just a side project of the drummer and guitarist, it quickly turned into a force of it's own. Quickly word spread of the heaviest band to hit the local scene in years, and thus they built a name before they even played more than a handful of shows. After just two "official" shows, (read: Not house parties) Nicole, ended up joining the band, and now they are a powerful four piece.
They are currently working the local scene, and towards the studio in hopes that all their hard work and sweat will garner enough attention and turn enough heads to reach every local bands goal...

[edit] History
[edit] Looking to make music?
When bassist Josh needed help getting a punk-based band off the ground, the fill in duties defaulted to his brother, Chris, and close friend, Smalley. After a few practices and a couple of songs came together, he quickly realized that this band was going toward the heavier side, and definitely not punk. With Chris doing vocals as well, the band played a couple of shows with Smalley's other band "Seventh Story", under the name of "Tragic Theory". All in all those shows were really rough around the edges, but those in attendance were awed by the raw aggressive sound, and ultimately the band was applauded for their efforts.
At this point the two temporary members decided to become permanent. However it was short lived, as Chris was planning on moving to Indianapolis to pursue his music career with a former band member. So with that, the project came to a grinding halt.
Smalley, however, had other plans.
[edit] When 85 just isn't enough...
Following the two months of the disbandment, unbeknownst to Josh, Smalley hounded Chris until he finally gave in and they started practicing as a two piece. His goal was to show Chris that he was making a huge mistake. It was a success and the duo wrote a few more songs as "Project Downshift". Soon Josh was back into the fold, and together they decided on the band name "Warehouse 86".
Shortly after that, Smalley's tenure with his brain child "Seventh Story" came to an end over creative differences and so the trio had more time to practice and create. The band played it's first official show for charity, and everyone was privy to more refined versions of the songs played previously as Tragic Theory as well as new additions to the catalog. The sound took on a more aggressive feel than every before, and all in all was fueled by what seemed an endless supply of anger.
[edit] Saying Goodbye and Hello in the same day...
The second show was almost not played. Smalley's grandmother, Catherine Davis, had died earlier that morning. His mother requested that he play the show in her honor, and so the band carried forth. The second annual "Rock the Hut" went on to mark a couple of milestones for the band. It was the debut of the songs "3 Bullets" and the Smalley instrumental "Cardboard Castles".
Before the band's set, they met up with Andy of Das Spookez and was introduced to his girlfriend Nicole, who happened to be a very talented singer. After a brief conversation she decided to stick around and see what the band sounded like. The group apparently struck a chord with her. She was invited to an audtion a short time after Smalley listened to an mp3 of her singing. It went off without a hitch, and thus the trio, became a quartet.
After the initial shellshock, the band went to work, and eventually evolve. The band has a healthy balance of new material as well as their revamped back catalog. The music while still having a rough edge, and a heavy thumb, now has a counter balance in the vocals. The evolution has provided a new beginning for all of it's members, and fans alike.
[edit] Current
[edit] The Monster Mosh
They were ready to play their first debut show as a quartet on the 31st at the Monster Mosh. It was being held at the Madison Centerstage, where currently the play "Frakenstein" is being performed as well. It was to celebrate not only Halloween, but Das Spookez's demo release as well. Two days before the show Nicole was struck by illness and was unable to attend. However, the rest of the band did make it and helped out as roadies, and made an appearance and Smalley gave a short speech to all those in attendance on why they weren't able to play that night.
As of now, the cause of the illness is still unknown and the bands status is still active. They are refusing to play live shows, however, but work is continuing behind the scenes. Word is that the remaining members have entered the studio to start work on the material for the upcoming album so things will be started when she has fully recovered.
[edit] The Design
The new design you see on the upcoming shirts comes from Cheston, whom Smalley got in contact with after noticing his famous work he created for the Minibosses.
