Warner Theatre (Washington, D.C.)

The Warner Theatre is a theatre in downtown Washington, D.C.
Originally named the Earle Theatre, it was built in 1924 for vaudeville and silent movies and renamed in 1947 in honor of its owner, Harry Warner.
In 2007 it was announced to be the venue for the heavily awaited First Annual Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The recipient of the 1st Gershwin Prize was Paul Simon, 12 time Grammy award winner and one of the most highly regarded living American composers and performers.
