[edit] History of The Band
[edit] 2003
It all started in year 2003, when Ahmed Khojah , Emad Ashour, Sultan Alghamdi , Rayan Bahabri and Amer Tashkandi, created a thrash metal band called Crimson Iris. After playing for couple of months and only one song Away From Life they disbanded for personal reasons. In 3 months they gathered to form a new band along with Ali Maarawi, Ahmed Khojah, Sultan Alghamdi and Hani Nowillati. After two songs they parted ways due to musical dispute in Summer of 2003.
[edit] 2005
In 2005 Ahmed and Ayman came together to play just for fun, but this session was the first step to creating the band Wasted Land. As both of them play and have the same taste in music (with influences such as Dark Tranquility and In Flames) they contacted Emad Mujalled and Sultan Alghamdi to join the band. Emad as a vocalist and a drummer and Sultan as a bassist. After recording the first song Death in war it was a major hit among the local metal crowd and have been asked to perform live couple of times. As the band seriously started to search for a permanent drummer to play with them, they met Majed Shaarani who played only one show and designed the band's logo but had to leave. He was replaced by Tameem as a permanent drummer.
