Waterloo Bridge is a 1931 drama film made by Universal Pictures, directed by James Whale and produced by Carl Laemmle Jr.. The screenplay was by Benn Levy and Tom Reed from the popular Broadway play by Robert E. Sherwood. The film stars Mae Clarke and Douglass Montgomery (billed as Kent Douglass).

The story is about a chorus girl turned prostitute in World War I and her meeting and relationship with a naive young soldier.
Mae Clarke played the role of Myra Deauville, the chorus girl while Douglass Montgomery (Kent Douglass) took the role of Roy Cronin (an American soldier under Royal Canadian Forces). The film is also notable for featuring one of the earliest appearances by the actress, Bette Davis.

1931 was a banner year for Mae Clarke. She also played the woman into whose face James Cagney pushed a grapefruit in The Public Enemy as well as the bride of Frankenstein stalked by Boris Karloff in the iconic original version of Frankenstein.

- Waterloo Bridge (1940). The story in this Pre-Code film had subsequently been sanitized in the 1940 remake starring Vivien Leigh and Robert Taylor.
- Gaby (1956). In 1956, it was remade again, in color, starring Leslie Caron and John Kerr.

The DVD version of the film has been released together with other two Pre-Code films, namely Baby Face and Red-Headed Woman, under the title of TCM Archives - Forbidden Hollywood Collection, Vol. 1 on 5 December 2006.
