Wavenumber-frequency diagram
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Wavenumber-frequency diagram is a plot of a field that has been subjected to a Fourier transform both in space and time.
In the atmospheric sciences, these plots are a common way to visualize atmospheric waves. Usually, positive and negative frequencies are indicated on the ordinate (y-value, or up-down), while wavenumbers are indicated on the abscissa (x-value, or left-right).
