[edit] Infobox: Cities used in "metro area" calculation
Just FYI--eight cities' (in additon to Waxahachie's) 2000 census data was used. The following cities I considered are "metro" to Waxahachie are: Pecan Hill, TX, Oak Leaf, TX, Red Oak, TX, Ovilla, TX, Glenn Heights, TX, Midlothian, TX, Maypearl, TX, and Palmer, TX. These cities are all within a 12.5 mi radius. -therearenospoons 05:49, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Considering Revert of Education Section
I am considering reverting changes made by lucie59 to the education section. I feel these changes are neither objective nor well quantified and have since reintroduced factual information removed by this user and added citation needed flags where appropriate. If a source can not be provided to verify and better quantify the various submitted remarks, then they should of course be removed from the article. Specifically, the following claims by lucie59 require citation/elaboration: "recently identified as a rapidly-growing district" (when?, by whom?, how fast?), "most graduates of Waxahachie High School are college-bound" (how many?, says who?), and "many Pre-AP and AP classes are offered" (how many? which subjects? what percent of AP subjects is this?).
I am further considering the deletion of information that does not seem relevant/important to the topic of education in the city of Waxahachie, including: the location of the Ninth Grade Academy, performance of the high school football team (unless this seems to be conventional material for inclusion under this topic), and mention of colleges outside of Waxahachie (for goodness sake, Cambridge University exists as a higher education option for residents of Waxahachie, this doesn't merit inclusion unless an unusually high number of Waxahachie residents attend that school or the school has some historical affiliation with the city of Waxahachie...).
Would anyone like to suggest a timetable for reverting some or all of these changes? Does anyone have an opinion as to the modifications I'm suggesting? Can anyone clean up lucie59's remarks to produce well-cited, objective data? - 70.253.94.116 05:50, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
