Wayne first aid squad

The Wayne Township Memorial First Aid Squad provides BLS (Basic Life Support) to all to reside in or travel through the Township of Wayne, New Jersey. The squad opperates 5 Type I Rescue Ambulances 3 Boats, and 1 Heavy Rescue Vehicle.

[edit] STRUCTURE
The First Aid Squad operates from two buildings known as Uptown and Downtown
The Uptown building, located on Hamburg Turnpike, houses three (3) ambulances, Rescue 976 and one (1) boat. The Downtown building, located between Taylor Drive and PAL Drive, houses two ambulances and two boats.
The Squad is run by an elected Chief and several other line officers. Chain of Command:
Chief Assistant Chief Day Lieutenant Assistant Day Lieutenant Director of First Aid Assistant Director of First Aid
The township is divided into two zones (Uptown and Downtown). The zones are defined as follows:
Uptown – The area lying north and east of a line starting at Route 23 and Ratzer road going east on Ratzer road to Garside Avenue, then along Garside across Preakness Avenue to the end of Colonial Road.
ALL CALLS ON EITHER SIDE OF RATZER ROAD ARE CONSIDERED AS UPTOWN CALLS
Downtown - The area lying south and west of a line starting at Route 23 and Ratzer road going east on Ratzer road to Garside Avenue, then along Garside across Preakness Avenue to the end of Colonial Road.

** Boats are designated by the Rig that is towing it but proceeded by the word Boat instead of Unit. The only exception is the large boat which is always BOAT 976 **
