WBES-AM is one of two Charleston Sports AM stations. WBES carries FOX Sports Radio and is owned by Bristol Broadcasting Company. The station has an ERP of 1,000 watts. WBES shares a tower with WZJO-FM in Dunbar, the city of license.

- The WBES callsign was formerly on 94.5 FM which is now sister station Z Rock 94-5.
- The WBES callsign was on 96.1 FM from 1969 until 1991. That station is now known as WKWS-FM "96.1 The Wolf" owned by the competition West Virginia Radio Corporation.
