Talk:WBLS
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I seem to recall that it was actually in 1972 that then - WLIB-FM's call letters were changed to WBLS, after WLIB (AM) was purchased by Inner City Broadcasting (the Novick family, which had previously owned the AM outlet, initially held on to the FM property as well), and that 1974 was actually the year Inner City acquired WBLS. You can find this in articles in the New York papers (i.e. The New York Times) during the respective periods in question. Just look in the index under "WLIB" and "WBLS" in the "Television and Radio - Stations" section. –Wbwn 05:39, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
