Wehrkreis XIII

Wehrkreis was in Germany starting from the Weimar Republic the nomination of the governmental agencies / institutions to recrute and form new soldiers for parts of the Reichswehr and later Wehrmacht. Another objective of the Wehrkreise was to organize the feeding and Ersatz of the troops. Germany was until 1938 divided in 13 territorial districts which were numbered with roman numerals. After 1938 there were founded additional Wehrkreise in conquered areas of Austria, Poland and Czechoslovakia.
- Wehrkreis XIII included all of northern Bavaria from fall, 1937 when the greater part of it was cut off from Wehrkreis VII and was later extended in 1938 to include parts of western Bohemia, as follows:
- Headquarters: Nürnberg, Germany
- Commander: General d'Infanterie Mauriz Wiktorin
- Chief of Staff: General Major Paul Voit
- Corps Headquarters: XIII Infanterie Corps; XXXXV Corps (Lower Establishment)
- Area Headquarters: Regensburg; Nürnberg; Eger.
- Subareas: Regensburg, Passau, Straubing, Weiden, Amberg, Fürth, Bamberg, Bad Kissingen, Würzburg, Ansbach, Coburg, Bayreuth, Bad Mergentheim, Tauberbischofsheim, Eger, Kaaden, Karlsbad, Mies, and Marktredwitz.
