Weird Worlds (comics)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Weird Worlds was a short-lived science fiction anthology title from DC Comics that was published between 1972 and 1974. It only lasted 10 issues.
At first, Weird Worlds published series from Edgar Rice Burroughs that DC had the rights to. This included the "John Carter" feature, by scripter Marv Wolfman and artist Murphy Anderson which moved over from Tarzan #209, and the "Pellucidar" feature from Korak, Son of Tarzan #46, here drawn by Alan Weiss, Mike Kaluta, and Dan Green.
These features ran through issue #7, October 1973. "John Carter" would re-appear in Tarzan Family #62-64 and "Pellucidar" in Tarzan Family #66. With issue #8, a new feature began: Howard Chaykin's Ironwolf, which ran through issue #10. The title was cancelled in 1974, an early victim of the DC Implosion.
