Portal:West Bengal/Selected article candidates
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Selected article candidatesHere we determine which articles are selected on Portal:West Bengal/Selected articles. A selected article should exemplify Wikipedia's very best work. See what is a selected article for criteria. If you nominate an article, you will be expected to make a good-faith effort to address objections that are raised. If you nominate something you have worked on, note it as a self-nomination. Please do not place more than one nomination at a time — this makes it difficult to do each article and its objections justice. Consensus must be reached for an article to be promoted to selected article status. All Selected Article Candidate nominations will be archived after a consensus is reached on their suitability for being Selected Article on Portal:West Bengal. For articles that are already featured, if no objection comes in two days since the time of nomination, they will be promoted as selected articles. |

In pretty good shape. I don't see any reason why it should not be a selected article in the West bengal portal.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:37, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Birbhum District
This article on Birbhum District is is an informative article on which several people have worked. I have only brushed it up a little. This needs to be selected for the Portal:West Bengal -- P.K.Niyogi 12:21, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Comment Needs proper sub-headings. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian districts for a guideline. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:49, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Reorganised and revised as per Wikipedia guidelines. Waiting for activation of map. -- P.K.Niyogi 02:53, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- I Second the Nomination, not just because I was involved in writing a major part of the article, but because I believe it is indeed the best information, unavailable at one place in either the WB Govt website, or Encyclopedia Britanica, or any other online resources. Before nominating I have endured it meets all the criteria for a selected article ie it is well written, comprehensive, factually accurate, neutral, stable, has pictures, and follows the Style manual. I reviewed the subheadings in Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian districts. Except the Media, which is missing, and is a non essential topic according to the guidelines, all the other subheadings are done well now according to the guide lines. Please tell if you have any further specific comments. --Dr.saptarshi 10:03, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
