West Cheshire College
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
West Cheshire College is a vocational college of further education based in Chester (Handbridge), Ellesmere Port and Capenhurst.
The College is a provider of vocational education and offers many part and full-time courses to residents of Chester and the surrounding area, including parts of north Wales. Curriculum areas include Hair and Beauty, Languages, Engineering, Art and Design, Business, Performing Arts and Public Services among many others. Shorter leisure courses are also offered catering for those who wish to further an interest rather than gain a qualification.
Many students go on to university to study for degrees while others have gone on to pursue careers in their chosen industry. Learners of all ages study at one of the College’s main campuses or at one of the many community based centres around the West Cheshire region. The Ellesmere Port campus recently underwent a £10 million modernisation programme to make the campus more suitable for the 21st century.
The College has a proud history and a long standing reputation for academic achievement and has Centre of Vocational Excellence status for Care, Motor Vehicle and Logistics. It is also used by businesses who wish to increase the skills of their staff. Courses can be delivered at College or within the workplace.
The Principal of the College is Sara Mogel and, at the time of writing, the College employs 621 permanent members of staff.
