What Makes Sammy Run is the 21st episode of Popular. It is written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz.
In this episode, Brooke, Carmen, and Lily discover that Sam is missing. It turns out Sam is gone to San Francisco in search of Brooke's mother.
At Jane's wedding shower, the girls plan on acting like everything is normal, until Carmen throws up after hiding the secret.
Meanwhile the boys plan on going to a strip joint, but aren't able to get in after being underaged. They then decide as for a Brooke's father before he gets married to go to the strip joint. It turns out that the strippers are Nicole, Mary Cherry, and Wanda Rickets. Wanda told Mary Cherry and Nicle that she got money buy being teen trash, so the two girls decided to do the same thing. Mike then gets arrested at the strip joint.
Meanwhile in San Francisco Sam visits Brooke's mother to figure out the story. She then gets her answers and soon discovers that Brooke's mother does not want to be part of Brooke's life.
While Jane listens to the story of Sam running away, she discovers that Mike(Brooke's father) is arrested. Sam then returns back home. Cherry Cherry decides to help pay Jane by paying for the arrest and the wedding, but the catch is the wedding has to be a double wedding.
