- Um, not sure about how this works (do we need to hold another merge discussion on the article talk page?), but support my own suggestion. Bwithh Join Up! See the World! 04:17, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Discussion
- Reads like an essay in places but there could be a viable article on this topic, I may have some sources floating around. Moreschi Deletion! 11:35, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- The subject is certainly encyclopaedic. Page could do with a clean-up for grammar and spelling. Judging from my superficial knowledge of this area, the article sounds convincing but it lacks the necessary detail an expert would bring. --Folantin 19:04, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like to propose a merge into Foreign relations of Angola - which is about the same size of this article and surely needs expansion. The US may currently be the most important market for Angola (40% of exports according to the CIA Factbook[1], but China (30% of exports) and South Korea (20.5% of imports, 1st position) are important trading partners too and during recent history (Cold War superpower confrontation-by-proxy during the 27 year civil war) the USSR, Cuba and South Africa are also very important[2]. The foreign relations of Angola article could be expanded a lot and I think keeping a US-Angola relations article separate doesn't help this process and also gives it a misleading prominence (WP:BIAS issues). Perhaps one day there will be so much in the foreign relations article, spinoffs will be necessary, but at the moment I don't see the need for a separate US-Angola relations article at this point.
