The peer review department of the Hinduism WikiProject conducts peer review of articles on request. The primary objective is to encourage better articles by having contributors who may not have worked on articles to examine them and provide ideas for further improvement.

The peer review process is highly flexible and can deal with articles of any quality; however, requesting reviews on very short articles may not be productive, as there is little for readers to comment on.

All reviews are conducted by fellow editors—usually members of the Hinduism WikiProject. While there is a general intent to expand this process to allow for review by subject experts, the preparations for this are not yet complete.

[edit] Requesting a review

1. Place {{WPHinduismPeerreview}} at the top of the article's talk page.
2. From there, click on the "request has been made" link that appears in the new template. This will open a page to discuss the review of your article.
3. Place === [[Name of nominated article]] === at the top.
4. Below it, write your reason for nominating the article and sign by using four tildes (~~~~).
5. Add {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Hinduism/Peer review/Name of nominated article}} at the top of the list of requests on this page.

Everyone is encouraged to comment on any request listed here. To comment on an article, please add a new section (using ==== [[User:Your name|Your name]] ====) for your comments, in order to keep multiple responses legible.

Reviews should be archived after they have been inactive for some time, or when the article is nominated as a featured article candidate. To archive a review:

1. Replace {{WPHinduismPeerreview}} with {{WPHinduismOldpeerreview}} at the top of the article's talk page
2. Move {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Hinduism/Peer review/Name of nominated article}} from this page to the current archive page.

I think that this article could be brought to featured article status, but currently I think it is only a start class. Please suggest improvements and/or directions in which to proceed.TheRingess (talk) 17:26, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

The article in general does not provide references for most of the content. Hanuman is such an important figure he could certainly get more complete citations. In general there does not seem to be good differentiation between material in primary scriptural sources and devotee impressions about what those sources mean. This is common in the Hinudism articles and is not meant as a criticism, just an observation that much of the content was probably originally entered by devotees and can now be further cited by those who wish to do so. I am not sure of the criteria for good article status, but I would think the article would be stronger if it had more references. Buddhipriya 19:14, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I have significantly improved sourcing and I think it is no longer a start class article. This article will be abandoned by its only major contributor (user:Andries) who will probably receive a topic ban from the arbcom. I am looking for a replacement. Andries 17:08, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I am not going to be a replacement, but I'm going to make some suggestions. I have not read through all of the discussions, nor read any of the mediation cases, so if I address some issues already addressed there, please forgive me. Based on my reading of the quality scale at the WikiProject Hinduism assessment page, I would rate this article as a start class article. Here are my suggestions.

1. Resolve all of the issues brought up by the tags placed here so they can be removed. Interested editors should build consenus regarding how/when those tags can be removed.
2. At a quick glance, the notes section is longer than the actual article. I would suggest shortening it. Again, interested editors should build conensus about whether or not this is a valid concern and if so, how best to go about shortening the section.

Again, I'm not familiar with the history of this article, so if the above points were addressed previously, I apologize.
