The first available English CD version of Wikipedia-CD is the 2006 Wikipedia CD Selection. It totals three million words and 8000 images (see CD Project page), which is equivalent to a book with 4000 to 5000 pages of material. This download is intended to be "safe" for children, but some articles are nonetheless complicated. The BitTorrent download is here.
A 2007 CD Selection is planned. It will likely be twice the size of the 2006 edition, and will include enhancements such as improved image copyright attribution as well as the Wikipedia logo. Content from the Version 0.5 project will also be included in the CD.
