A standard template is always a good idea. Additonal text to this article discussing Illinois State Road system was developed BEFORE the 1926 US Highway Act. -- State Bonds Issues for each "route" (SRI-#) -- would be very good. Greg Beat 19:30, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- SBI (state bond issue), not SRI (probably just a typo). That's definately worth mentioning, since the majority of Illinois state routes were originally financed with SBIs, each state route number for SBI routes usually matches the SBI that funded it, and the legal designations often still refer to the roads with the name "SBI Route". --Closeapple 09:33, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. Yes, that was a typo for SBI - my mistake. I have been working through the IL state routes (largely western / central Illinois) - I have driven enough of them - and remember some of the extended "re-routes" as well as temporary detours! Greg Beat 03:30, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Illinois
Illinois Route X. Common and accepted abbreviations for the purposes of referencing elsewhere in the article: IL(L)(.) (RT(E)(.)) X, ILL-X, Illinois X. Route X is acceptable if it cannot be confused with another nearby U.S. or Interstate highway, which is unlikely at this time. Neither newspapers nor advertisements have a good track record (actually, they have a horrible track record) of telling apart U.S. and Illinois Routes, much less from Interstates. —Rob (talk) 05:08, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Switch to {{Infobox road}}
Per WP:USRD/INNA, this project should switch to {{Infobox road}}, since this standardizes the look of any U.S. Road article. Comments? V60 VTalk · VDemolitions · VRoads 00:43, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- However, this is recommended, not required. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 02:50, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Lincoln Heritage Trail
Please consider expanding Lincoln Heritage Trail. I started the article, but I couldn't find much information for the article. --Eastmain 08:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
