[edit] Television-related articles naming conventions
There seems to be an explosion of Singapore television-related articles recently. Unsurprisingly, the English titles of Singapore's dramas tend to be namesakes of music pieces, games and other completely unrelated concepts that already have a Wikipedia article of their own. Consequently, a handful of disambiguation markers have come to surface, namely (TV series), (drama), (Drama), (television series) and *gasp* (Singapore).
Let's establish a convention for Singapore articles. I favour using WP:TV-NC as the base version for this and, for example, use (drama) for our Channel 8 dramas and sitcoms over the rest listed above.
- Generic TV series: (TV series)
- Sitcoms: (sitcom)
- Variety shows: (variety show)
- Game shows: (game show)
- Talk shows: (talk show)
- Drama: (drama)
- News: (news programme)
- Current affairs: (current affairs programme)
- Made-for-TV movies: (film)
- All others: (TV programme)
- Additional disambiguation: Add Singapore, for example, (Singapore game show)

- I support the new naming convention, go ahead and rename it. Standardisation is good. ;) Terence Ong 17:17, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- The list looks good, but I'm hesitant about the usage of "drama", "sitcom" and "variety show" when the generic "TV series" is by far the more commonly used disambiguator on Wikipedia. Is "Double Happiness (drama)" really all that needed compared to "Double Happiness (TV series)"? -ryand 13:05, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
