[edit] History and overview
Wilfred the series is based on the original short film Tropfest winner in 2002. This also starred its creators, Adam Zwar and Jason Gann, Gann winning best actor at the Tropfest awards. The story of Wilfred is based on a bad date that Adam's friend went on.
Each week Wilfred screens it follows a story about a girl, Sarah, her dog, Wilfred and the Sarah's new boyfriend, Adam. After Sarah and Adam's first date, Adam goes home with Sarah and Adam meets a scruffy dog, who only Adam sees as a person. The dog develops a grudge on his owner's new boyfriend and tests out to see if he is capable of being his new 'daddy. So an unsuspecting Adam who is keen on winning Sarah's heart has Wilfred to contend with.
