William Barker (baptized 7 June 1817 – 11 July 1894) was a Canadian gold prospector and miner who participated in the British Columbia gold rush of the 1850s and 1860s in the Cariboo region of the modern province of British Columbia.
17 August 1862 Barker made a major discovery which made him a (transiently) wealthy man. The town that sprung up near his strike was called Barkerville, British Columbia, which is now the centre of Barkerville Provincial Park.
