William Mitchell (RAF officer)

Air Chief Marshal Sir William Gore Sutherland Mitchell KCB CBE DSO MC AFC RAF (8 March 1888 - 15 August 1944) was a senior commander in the Royal Air Force and the first RAF officer to hold the post of Black Rod.
Mitchell was Air Officer Commander-in-Chief RAF Middle East from 23 March 1939 to 12 May 1940.
