William Pitt Union
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The William Pitt Union Building is the student union building located on the University of Pittsburgh main campus. The building, originally known as the Schenley Hotel, was built in 1898. While a hotel, guests such as Spencer Tracy and President Woodrow Wilson stayed there. In 1956, the university acquired the hotel and turned it into a residence hall. The building underwent a major renovation in 1983 and is now the home of university offices, a food court, and student organizations such as the newspaper, yearbook, and student radio station.
