William Woollard

William Woollard (born 20 August 1939 in London) is a television presenter and executive.
He is best known for presenting the BBC television programmes, Top Gear which he presented between 1981 and 1991 and Tomorrow's World.
Woollard was also the writer and presenter of a three-part BBC series on British scientific intelligence during World War II called "The Secret War". In this series Woollard described how the British codebreakers were able to listen to German military "Enigma" cypher messages, the discovery of centimetric radar, and the precision bombing aids developed by German scientists and the see-sawing of events that lead to successful attempts by other scientists to defeat those systems. He was later the executive producer and narrator for the 1996 series Ghosthunters.
