Stub articles in this category should be tagged with {{Durham-geo-stub}} Winlaton is a village situated in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, and is a close community. However, some teenagers have given the name a bad reputation. The village has many different qualities, such as being near Newcastle and Gateshead, the local primary schools and the quality housing estates provided in the area. There are also several churches. However, these are mainly of Christian denominations.
Trouble has seemed to decrease in recent times with the addition of CCTV in the village centre and a police crackdown on anti social behaviour.
