WJYE is located in the Buffalo, New York area and broadcasts at 96.1 FM. Its transmitter is located in Buffalo.
WJYE signed on in 1966 (As WBNY-FM). It currently is owned by Regent Communications. The station runs a soft rock/adult contemporary format. It is occasionally referred to as "Joy 96," for a previous branding (the JY in WJYE stands for the word "joy"), but WJYE no longer uses that branding and avoids doing so (although that may change with the recent change in ownership). WJYE is the Buffalo area home of the Delilah program.
From approximately the Friday before Thanksgiving through December 25, WJYE switches its format to Christmas music.
WJYE began streaming its programming on the Internet in November 2006.
